CA Dr. Pankaj R. Shah is a Fellow Member of ICAI and the Founder of M/s. Pankaj R. Shah & Associates, established in 1977. With over four decades of professional experience, he has led the firm’s growth with deep expertise in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation.

Dr. Shah earned his Doctorate in “Managerial Implications of Taxation”, becoming the first and only Chartered Accountant in India to be awarded a Ph.D. in this distinctive area of study. His work bridges academic rigor and practical insight, reinforcing his reputation as a thought leader in taxation and corporate finance.

A prolific writer and speaker, Dr. Shah has authored numerous articles, presented at several professional conferences, and served as a visiting faculty at reputed institutes. He has also served as an Arbitrator and authored the book “What My Family Should Know”.

Late CA Vinod R. Shah was a highly accomplished Chartered Accountant, having qualified in 1959. A former Partner at Pankaj R. Shah & Associates, he made remarkable contributions to the fields of Corporate Law, Finance, and Management Consulting throughout his illustrious career.

He served as Group Advisor (Legal & Secretarial) to the Lalbhai Group of Companies, where he played a pivotal role in managing euro issues, international collaborations, joint ventures, and matters related to BIRR, SEBI, FERA, Risk Management, and Insurance. His global experience included establishing joint ventures and wholly owned subsidiaries in Germany, the U.S.A., Mauritius, and Sri Lanka, as well as branches in the U.K., Hong Kong, the Philippines, and the U.A.E.

He held several prestigious leadership positions, including Director and CEO of Anup Engineering Ltd., and was a Founder Member and Treasurer of the Ahmedabad Branch of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He also served as Secretary, Chairman, and later Treasurer of both the Ahmedabad Branch and the Western India Regional Council of ICSI, as well as Chairman and Treasurer of the Ahmedabad Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

A passionate academic and speaker, he served as an Honorary Lecturer at H.L. College of Commerce, Ahmedabad, and was a Faculty Member and Speaker at numerous symposiums, seminars, and study circles organized by professional institutions such as ICAI, ICSI, IIM, B.K. Institute of Management, Som Lalit Institute, Ahmedabad Management Association, and the Ahmedabad Textile Mills Association.

His intellectual contributions extended to professional literature, where he authored articles in leading publications including The Chartered Accountant, Chartered Secretary, Corporate Law Advisor, SEBI and Corporate Laws, and The Economic Times.
